The photos folder
Ingle can show photos from a folder (a NAS share, say) alongside the ones uploaded in Admin › Photos. It only reads that folder, checks it for new photos every 10 minutes, and keeps resized copies in photo-cache/ next to the database. Admin › Photos says how many it’s found.
Add or remove those photos in the folder itself. They aren’t included in backups: they’re your own files.
With Docker Compose
Section titled “With Docker Compose”Set PHOTOS_PATH=/mnt/nas/photos and INGLE_PHOTOS_DIR=/photos in .env, uncomment the photos line under volumes: in compose.yaml, then run docker compose up -d.
With plain Docker
Section titled “With plain Docker”Mount the folder read-only:
docker run -d --name ingle -p 8080:8080 \ -v ingle-data:/data \ -v /path/to/photos:/photos:ro -e INGLE_PHOTOS_DIR=/photos \ ghcr.io/lukeskelhorn/ingle:latestThe files need to be readable by UID 65532, or by everyone.
Without Docker
Section titled “Without Docker”Set INGLE_PHOTOS_DIR in /etc/ingle/ingle.env. A folder under /home needs a small change to the service first: see Without Docker.
